Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the best time to install sod?
A: October through May is the best time to install sod in Florida, we can install year round but keep in mind that June through September are the worst times- during these months the sod has a greater chance of suffering fungus or insect damage.

Q: I like my lawn to be cut short, can you adjust your mowers to the lowest setting?
A: That depends on the turf type, if it’s Zoysia- absolutely! this grass needs to be cut 1.5″ – 2″ On the other hand St Augustine should be cut 2.5″ – 4″ above the soil and preferably 3″ for shady areas. So the answer depends on your lawn, as a rule of thumb we will never remove more than 1/3 of the blade height and we will not cut the lawn shorter in order to decrease intervals.

Q: Do you offer one time cuts?
A: No, we do make exceptions for clean-outs when working with a home that is transitioning from one owner to the next or when a brokerage company is involved. The reason for this policy is pretty simple, we have loyal customers that pay year round for us to service their property- We can’t take time or attention away from them in good faith, especially for a one time fling.

Q: How much do you charge?
A: Our Maintenance fees are based on the size, location, and features of each individual property- The prices quoted reflect the amount of time we will spend on the property, travel time, liability, material and labor cost. Any other method of pricing is inaccurate and is not in the best interest of the property, the client, or our business.

Q: Can you push mow my lawn?
A: No, there is no advantage to this and it will only increase the time we spend on your property in turn increasing the price- unreasonably so. We do however have a lightweight walk-behind mower that can be used upon request for low, wet, or thin lawns.

Q: Why was I charged for pet waste?
A: We make every effort to communicate with you before a billing change is made, if you see this on your bill we have tried to reach out to you unsuccessfully. Pet waste is transferred by our tires and blades to other yards spreading fungus and disease, we have to be considerate of all our customers, their turf, and their pets. Thanks for understanding.

Q: Can you decrease my bill? Because your guys were only on site for 15-20 minutes:
A: Is there a quality issue that we need to address? Our technicians do this professionally day in and day out, it is expected for them to be very efficient especially with the highest quality commercial equipment at their disposal. We would hope that 2-3 techs with commercial equipment are able to complete tasks much faster than you would be able to by yourself. Please keep in mind that 20 minutes for 3 people is actually one hour.

Q: I’m a new customer, can you come out today?
A: probably not, in some cases we are able to come out right away for an estimate or emergency service. Please keep in mind that our crews service 15-20 properties each day 6 days a week. We value your time and make every effort to provide timely service, but this includes our current customers.
